Earlier this week, I attended my first PhD-relevant conference: the 10th World Congress on the Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications (WCPDC10). I presented a poster of preliminary results of my systematic review, where I essentially conducted two systematic reviews and combined the results together:
Poster presentation aside (download the poster above to see it in all it's glory!), this was meant to be a learning and networking opportunity. The networking went well, but the number of interesting sessions I attended is worth elaborating on. There were two sessions devoted to gestational diabetes and Type 2 diabetes prevention – which made my not-so-inner nerd very happy.
Thinking critically about this conference has led to a few suggestions for future WCPDCs...
